Ben Thunder was made, like all heroes, in the Hero Factory. He trained very hard even, at some points, pushing himself to his limit to become the hero he is today. After going on a mission with his team he was hit by Von Nebula and was flown 20 miles away from his team. By the time he got back there was no sign of Von Nebula or his team. He now works alone but will help train rookies when he feels like it. Even though he told the Hero Factory he'd work alone he has started to team up with Scott Rotix looking for Tortoxin who may lead him to Von Nebula. He once teamed up with William Drive to create the Flight System and Land Rovor after seeing that heroes needed to get to their missions faster. He went with Rotix one day and found Tortoxin who was making the Vile System. The two stopped the system but Tortoxin got away. He recently found Tortoxin and fought him in hand to hand combat. He was almost killed and went to the Hero Factory to be cloned. One of his clones have escaped and is roaming the city. His intentions are unknown. He once again found Tortoxin but was killed. Tortoxin then took a clone of Thunder to train and raise it himself.

Ben Thunder is a shoot first-think later kind of guy. As a rookie he was an easy going kind of guy, but now he takes his job more seriously. He tries to be a role model to all the rookies. He gets mad at people only when they make him mad. He also hates odd numbers. He's very smart.

Ben Thunder is equipped with the latest Flight System and Land Rovor allowing him to travel at top speed on land and in the air.
